TAKEYACHI Chiropractic Center |
The second chiropractic clinic opened by
a medical doctor in Japan |
Dr. Yasunobu Takeyachi, the director of the clinic, is a medical doctor and a chiropractor. He opened TAKEYACHI Chiropractic Center in March, 2007. Thirty years ago his uncle, who is also a medical doctor, opened the first chiropractic clinic in Japan. Dr. Yasunobu Takeyachi practiced as an orthopedic surgeon for three years before leaving for the United States to pursue a chiropractic degree. He graduated from National University of Health Sciences in August, 2006 as valedictorian and received a doctorate of chiropractic degree. Patients at Takeyachi Chiropractic Center receive the highest standard of international chiropractic care, and the benefit of a medically based diagnosis.
Medicine has a monopoly in Japan, yet many drugless healing arts like chiropractic are strongly supported by Japanese people. Chiropractic is not yet legislated because of oppositions from medical profession and other established groups such as masseur, Shiatsu practitioners, acupuncturists and bonesetters. Precedence set by a 1960 Supreme Court ruling allows anyone to practice spinal manipulation, including chiropractic, if it is not harmful to the patient. Under this ruling, anyone can call him or herself a chiropractor, making it difficult to find reliable chiropractors that have legitimate degrees.
TAKEYACHI Chiropractic Center is located in the heart of Tokyo. The office is only a four-minute walk from JR Tokyo station, which is serviced by the world famous bullet train and many other lines. Four other convenient subway stations are less than a ten-minute walk from the clinic and include; Kyobashi station on the Ginza line, and, Takaracho station on the Asakusa line, Ginzaitchome station on the Yurakucho line and Nihombashi station on the Tozai line. The clinic is located in Yaesu, which is next to the Marunouchi, Kyobashi, Nihombashi and Yurakucho areas.
The office is open until 8:00pm during the week, which allows patients to schedule an appointment after a long day of work. The clinic is also open on Saturdays until 6:00pm.
Chiropractic is helpful in treating the following disorders and symptoms;
low back pain, sciatica, disc herniation, neck pain, whiplash injury, stiff neck, headache, numbness, sprain, strain, knee pain, hip pain, fatigue, dysmenorrheal and many other problems.
