At TAKEYACHI Chiropractic Center, most of the cases for disc herniation
at lumbar spine are treated by Cox Technique. This form of technique was
developed by Dr. Jame M. Cox. Dr Takeyachi learned the method of Cox technique
in Indiana by Dr Cox at his clinic. Cox technique is done by a special
table (picture below). Techniques such as spinal manipulation and other
form of therapy are also utilized in the case of disc herniation. We also
place strong emphasis on preventive care for pain and relief. We believe
that prevention is the best medicine for any type of symptoms and conditions
The purpose Cox technique is to reduce the disc pressure by applying distraction
and flexion at the specific areas the spine. By reducing the internal pressure
of the disc, it will reduce the pressure from compression and irritation
on the nerve. This method of distraction treatment is very different from
the machines used in the hospitals, which does not have flexion component.
