Case1 Neck/Shoulder Stiffness |
Female in mid 30`s, a desk-worker came to our clinic with complaint of
neck/shoulder stiffness. She has been suffering from stiffness since 6
months ago. She works 6hrs a day in front her computer every day. When
the stiffness gets sever, she starts to have headaches usually by the end
of the day. She has been treating her symptom with medication for a past
month but never felt any relief. From the examination, she had a round
back, with head forwardly deviated. A very typical faulty posture that
we often encounter with in our practice. Muscle of her neck to the shoulder
was very stiff, and decrease in her motion was noted in her spine of neck
and back. Spinal manipulation and Trigger point therapy was applied for
her treatment. After 5 treatments, her stiffness was almost completely
gone. Postural advices were provided for her prevention, and no reports
of recurrence of pain was noted
Male in his mid 30’s came to our clinic for low back pain. His low back pain was chronic and he has been suffering for past 4 years. He took an X-ray at a clinic nearby his home and results were negative. He was told that nothing is wrong with his bone.
However, because his low back pain kept coming back, he decided to go to massage clinic where the place was introduced by his friend. Every time when he gets a massage, he gets relief for 2 or 3 days. However, his condition kept returning, he began to search seek for different option to know his real cause of his chronic low back pain. His muscle on lower back was extremely stiff and fatigued. He was beginning to lose his mobility in his lumbar spine also. Chiropractic manipulation was provided to increase the mobility in his spine and exercise was prescribed for his prevention. After 5 treatments, pain was almost completely gone. Since then no reports of recurrence of low back pain was noted.
Case3 Lumbar Herniated Disc (Lumbar Disc herniation)
|
Male in his late 20’s came to our clinic with the complaint of low back and striking pain in his left foot that he suffered 2week ago with a sudden onset. His work environment involves heavy lifting with slouched forward bending posture. Incident happen 2 weeks ago when he tried to carry a heavy box, when he suddenly felt a cracking sound in his back , and began to feel pain in his Lower Back. He began to feel strong pain in his foot afterwards, and symptom got worse when he tried to bend down to reach the floor. Decrease in sensation of his lower left leg was noted, and SLR test (examination for herniated discs) showed positive. This was a very typical case of herniated discs in lumbar spine. He began to feel decrease in pain with 2 weeks of chiropractic treatment. Told the patient that forward bending increase the load of lumbar inter-vertebral discs. Exercise was taught to reduce the stress on the discs and increase the quality of active daily living. Since then He remains in stable condition with no recurrence of pain.
